I have a two story home and was given the estimate of $2,200 plus paint. I don't know how much plus paint would be... they would paint all trim, stucco and cedar using Sherwin Williams paint. They also will patch and power wash. Is this a good price, how much extra should I plan on the paint costing? wow – I’ve never done any sort of intense painting like that before (as a renter) but it just goes to show that there is so much to consider that I wouldn’t have thought of. Thank you for laying out these steps like this!

After you fill in all the holes and cracks, primer becomes even more important. The primer will prevent flashing or a shiny spot on the wall, which occurs when paint is placed directly on spackling.
Wash most grime from your walls with a soft cloth or sponge that has been rung out thoroughly and mild soapy water. You can spot clean most walls and finishes with a mixture of baking soda and water. Rub the paste onto the mark with a sponge to work it in, then wipe clean with a new cloth and clean water.
Ceilings may require just as much prep as the walls depending on the situation. Water damage and fixing cracks in ceilings is often a costly necessity. The added cost is due to the difficulty of performing prep work like sanding, patching, and priming an overhead surface and safe ladder work.
Just as an artist has a set of steps painting a revered piece of art on his/her canvas, so does the house painter, on a much larger scale. That being a huge area, painting exterior siding & trim, under all kinds of weather conditions, which is why each step painting your home's exterior is so important.
Painting concrete siding costs $1.00 to $3.50 per square foot or $1,700 to $6,000 on average. Concrete or fiber cement siding is porous and absorbent, requiring a sealant, primer, and multiple coats for complete coverage. Old paint may need removing for new paint to adhere correctly.

Painting new siding that has been pre-primed will have lower costs, closer to $2,800 to $3,000, with costs slightly higher if priming is required, starting closer to $3,200 to $3,500. This is in contrast to the $2,500 average for repainting existing siding. Is your paint designed for the maximum impact for the room it's going on? A well-lit area such as a sun room will need a paint that's able to hold up to UV rays without fading its colors, while a semigloss paint is ideal for doors, windows, trim and shutters -- providing added protection and visual appeal.

If you want to paint your tiny home, you will pay between $677 and $2,250. The average tiny home in the United States is just 225 sq.ft., which means the cost to paint the entire house, inside and out, starts at just $677 on the inexpensive side and $2,250 for the highest-quality paints and materials. The tiny home movement has swept the nation, with fans of minimalism flocking to the trend, but a minimalist or cozy lifestyle does not mean you need to sacrifice style and quality for a tiny home's paint.
