It may be best to hire a qualified pro to paint the outside of your house if it’s got intricate decor or delicate detailing. If your home has several floors, the paint job may require a scaffolding or very tall ladders. Not every homeowner is comfortable working at those heights. Additionally, if your home’s exterior requires extensive prep work, it may make sense to hire a pro because prep work is time- and labor-intensive. Lastly, if your home has lead paint, a pro will know how to remove it safely. Therefore, it may very well save you time, money, and headaches down the line to hire a contractor to paint your home’s exterior for you rather than attempting to do the job yourself. We had some electrical wires pulled: a few outlets, three ceiling fans and 8 recessed down lights and all the switches. we had to patch after the electricians. The areas were not huge, but definitely complicated. Three types of wall/ceiling conditions: plaster, drywall and masonry walls. Nua was quick to respond and evaluate the project. Timing estimate was very accurate. Level of care and finish quality was exceptional. Craftsman quality not handyman. Would definitely contact for future projects.See more
"TJ is a great guy. Very good to work with. Excellent communication and knowledge. Always on time and stayed with the project until completion. He painted and repaired drywall in my bedroom which has a loft and a very high vaulted ceiling and completely gutted and remodeled master bath. This part of the job included moving shower from one end of the bathroom to the other (replacing a large soaker tub). I would definitely hire him for any future jobs."
Some painters charge by the square foot, and others charge by the hour or by the day. Painters need to take their overhead, labor, and travel time into consideration when they estimate the cost of a job. Lastly, it’s a good idea to get at least three written estimates before selecting a pro to paint your home’s exterior. Consult the free Porch project cost guides to get an idea about how much exterior house painting should cost in your area. Exterior Painting
There are a number of factors that affect how frequently you need to paint the exterior of a home. Different types of paint have varying degrees of longevity. Dark colors absorb more heat and tend to need more frequent repainting, and UV light is the main factor that breaks down paint. Parts of the house that are more exposed to sunlight will fade more quickly. Your home’s exterior finish plays a role in the frequency of house painting. Wood siding will need to be painted approximately every four years. Aluminum siding may last five years between paint jobs. If you’re weighing whether it’s time to have the outside of your home painted, ask a painting contractor for their advice and recommendations before you get started. Exterior Painting

06/14/17: Renato completed an exterior painting project for our relatively large single family home in Stamford, CT last weekend. Project did not begin well especially with the prep, repair/carpentry work, but then Renato took full control and ensured that the work done was to our satisfaction. The final result is outstanding. Minor damage to window screens, gutters and plants. Ensure that your window screens, gutters, and shutters are numbered and stored indoors or if kept outdoor covered properly against the elements. The project can be extensively delayed due to rain and you may find yourself dealing with insects and/or flooding in basement and dirty/bent/ mismatched screens/gutters/shutters. Overall we had a good team working on our project and we are satisfied with the finished product. The house looks great! Exterior Painting

If you have ornamental or colorful trees, shrubbery or floral selections around your home you should figure their colors into the color scheme selection that is made.  These landscaping attributes will have an effect on how appealing the property is as a whole throughout the year.  Homes that have a great deal of trees can make the property darker and cast shadows onto the home.  Individuals will want to avoid darker colors for these situations. Even if you think you'll probably do the job yourself, it's good preparation to seek estimates from professional exterior home painters near you. Then you'll have a financial point of comparison and you may benefit from what a home painting contractor has to say about the condition of your home, color choices and types of paint available. Let the painter make his pitch for a professional job before you decide what to do. You can still opt to do it yourself while having learned something worthwhile.

You should expect an estimate based on an actual examination of the house, as well as a plan for exactly what the painter will do. During the job, the painters should behave professionally while working as efficiently as possible to complete the job in a reasonable timeframe. Afterward, the only evidence of the paint job should be the paint itself — a professional contractor will clean up thoroughly once a job is done.  Exterior Home Painting

When selecting a color scheme for the home’s exterior homeowners can choose color options that will correct flaws that they may feel exist with their home and property.  Some examples include utilizing two shades of a single color to make a home appear appropriately sized when the home may be too large or too tall.  To accomplish this effect individuals will want to place the darker tone on the upper level of the home’s exterior.  Smaller windows can appear more proportionately sized by trimming them in a lighter tone of paint.  Darker colors make a space or feature appear smaller.  The same effect can be obtained for homes positioned further away from a curb.  By using lighter tones the home will not feel camouflaged.

There are many different types of exterior paints on the market today. Regardless of whether you’re looking for paint with a matte finish or a slight gloss, or which part of your home you’re painting, make sure you choose high quality paint. Look for chalking resistance, a high ability to fully cover a surface, color retention, and blister resistance. You can choose water- or latex-based paint, which is breathable so it doesn’t trap moisture and then crack and peel. Or you may choose oil-based paint, which takes longer to dry but offers better surface penetration. Primers come in water- or latex-based formulas as well as oil-based varieties. Oil-based primers can be used with oil- or water-based paint, and are best for stained wood or metal. Water-based primers are great for all kinds of applications but can only be used with water-based paint.
In addition to working on our house, Rome has now done jobs for my in-laws, brother, cousin and even a family friend (so its fair to say that I've seen a variety of his work in person) and all of us have been more than pleased with the finished products! If you're browsing for someone to "get the job done", end your search NOW and give Rome a call, you won't regret it!

If the painter meets your expectations, make sure you get a written contract that includes the estimated time to complete the project and the payment plan. Also ask for a guarantee: a reputable painter should agree to fix any imperfections (such as chipping) up to two years after the initial paint job. Finally, you should always go to the effort to get at least three written estimates before selecting a pro for any home project, including house painting. Denver Exterior Painting

Rome came to our house to take a look around back in May and promised me a quote by the end of the day-unlike other workers that we've had in the past, Rome stuck by his word and had it to me via email by dinnertime....something that reinforced the initial positive feeling that I had about him as he surveyed our home and listened to my ideas. We hired Rome and he and his crew began working on our home within the following couple weeks. Something we love about Rome is how knowledgable he is when it comes to the range of paint products and colors (we had a general idea that we wanted a light neutral color with a little tint of green and the easiest way for me was to have Rome narrow it down to 2-3 colors), for whatever advice or guidance we needed, he was always (and is always) a phone call away! Every home has details that can be accentuated for amazing looking visual appeal and first impressions.  The key is to not make the wrong details stand out.  Entryways, windows, shutters and other details on the home can be painted to make their design noticeable.  However features such as gutters, downspouts, external air conditioning systems, unevenly proportioned windows and protruding garage doors should not be completed to draw attention to them as this will provide a negative results.
