It's OK to pick just one element that stands out in your exterior color scheme; more often than not, that's the front door. The reason is aesthetic as well as practical: A bright front door hue such as this red signals visitors where to enter. On this house, the bulk of the color (warm gray) helps the low-slung profile gently recede into the landscape.

The process of finishing concrete walls begins with preparatory work. The surface to be treated is cleaned of dust and dirt. If there is a fungus or moss on the walls, they should be carefully cleaned and treated with water or antiseptic. Unevenness and defects on the surface of concrete are leveled by puttying. It is recommended to paint freshly-cast concrete surface in a month, so that the concrete has time to dry completely. In the event that the walls were painted earlier and the paint has already become unusable, its remnants are removed and the surface is again grounded. Each paint has its own requirements: one can not be applied in bright sunlight, another is recommended for wet surfaces, and there are universal coatings.
Kim Alexandruik's motto is to "go for impact." Use it as an opportunity to play with unusual seating and colorful artwork that may be harder to integrate into other rooms. Her color of choice is a "putty-colored gray, with a hint of pink and lavender. Not too light, so it doesn't go vapid," says Aleandruik. Use this hallway designed by Mally Skok as inspiration. Paintzen color expert Kristen Chuber shares her top paint color: Chalky Blue by PPG Porter Paints. "Somewhere between blue and gray, this velvety shade can actually be used as a neutral. It looks beautiful with bright white trim, but maybe even more impactful with rich, black accents. We have also seen this shade used beautifully in a monochromatic palette, alongside other shades of blue-gray, both on the lighter and darker side of the spectrum." Try using this hue in your kitchen, one of your bathrooms, or in the bedroom. Add a little feng shui energy to your living space with an orange paint color. "According to practitioners orange and red colors lend happiness to a room, which of course makes things feel more welcoming and inviting," says New York City architect, John Mochelle. "The Spruce Best Home Sundream is more of a warm beige but lives in the orange family. It is subtle enough for all four walls but still sufficiently sweet to evoke positive vibes." Selecting an exterior color scheme is a big decision. The level of commitment is more intense than picking a wall color. (Don't like your wall color? Repaint it in a weekend. Don't like your siding color? That's one you might have to live with.) But knowing a few exterior color dos and don'ts will save you a lot of color regret. See how to play up your home's best features and pick the right hues with these simple exterior color rules.

The primary colors (red, yellow, and blue) are the basis of all other hues, and as such, they're naturally complementary. But very few of us would consider painting a home in red, yellow, and blue, as represented in the original color wheel. However, when given rich depth or startling brightness, the hues provide an exterior color scheme that's at once distinctive and deeply satisfying. The key to color combinations is to select one color that pops (here, yellow) and another that's used sparingly (in this case, red). The rich shade of blue acts almost as a neutral for the exterior house paint color. House Painting Ideas Denver
By itself, steely gray can be a sterile choice for exterior house color combinations. But if this cool-minded hue tops your preferred color list, consider warming it up. That can be done in a number of ways, such as a bright accent color like orange that's on the warm end of the color scheme. A contrasting material, such as wood, can also be a good choice, particularly when stained a medium to dark color. In this contemporary scheme, a rich gray provides a good bridge between the two hues. House Painting Ideas Denver CO
The mass of your home determines the range of color choices for your exterior. For example, a very large house in a very dark color might look too imposing; a very small house that's painted too light might seem floaty in the landscape. This midsize house is a good example of using a single midrange hue in a way that's complementary without being overpowering. To prevent the front door from getting lost, try painting or staining it in a warm, rich color. House Painting Ideas Denver
The roof of the house is not only a means that protects from bad weather, but also an important element of the decor of the entire building and even the whole residential area. To ensure that the roof of the house is ideally combined with the design of the facade, you must carefully choose the main color palette and correctly combine all the variations of colors, as well as their shades.
White Heron redefines a classic color with its warmer tones that take it just slightly off-white. This color pairs extremely well with any color, but if you are looking for a neutral look, White Heron could be paired with dark charcoal gray and silver-gray accents. The best part of a white house is you can do an accent door in any color imaginable, but a bright red or teal would look exquisite. House Painting Ideas Denver
